Abstract
In order to study surface morphology of the PMMA seed-core latex particles prepared using butyl rubber-stabilized PMMA seed, various types of acrylic dispersion particles were prepared by 2 stage non-aqueous dispersion polymerization in aliphatic hydrocarbon media. The surface morphology and the degree of wrinkles of the resulting PMMA seed-core particles were found to be greatly influenced by polymerization process, initial amount of AIBN, EGDMA concentration, feeding time of monomer mixture, and polymerization temperature at the second-stage polymerization. The reaction condition for formation of the "raisin-like" particles was found to be by semi-continuous polymerization in the presence of 0.29g EGDMA cross-linker and 0∼0.011g AIBN at the second-stage polymerization using butyl-rubber stabilized PMMA seed latex.

Butyl rubber-stabilized PMMA seed를 이용하여 2단계 비수계 분산중합에 의해 생성한 PMMA seed-core 라텍스입자의 표면 모폴로지를 조사하기 위하여 다양한 중합조건하에서 다양한 입자표면 모폴로지를 갖는 PMMA seed-core 라텍스를 제조하였다. 생성한 PMMA seed-core 라텍스 입자의 표면 모폴로지는 2단계 중합과정에서의 중합공정, 중합초기 개시제의 농도, 가교제의 농도, 단량체 부가시간, 중합온도 등에 크게 영향을 받는 것을 확인하였다. 건포도와 같이 입자 표면이 쭈글쭈글한 입자는 반회분식공정에 의해 0∼0.011g의 AIBN, 0.29g의 EGDMA, 150분의 단량체 부가시간, 105℃의 중합온도의 조건하에서 생성되었다.
