Abstract
In this study, poly(phenylene sulfide ketone) [PPSK] was synthesized by reacting sodium sulfide with 4,4'-dichloro-benzophenone in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone. The effect of water, polymerization temperature, polymerization time, and stoichiometric ratio of monomers on the polymerization behavior of PPSK were investigated. From the study of polymerization behavior in the syntheses of PPSK with Phillips process, optimum polymerization condition was deterimined in view of inherent viscosity and conversion. There is no effect of additives such as sodium benzoate and lithum acetate. Thermal properties of PPSK synthesized were investigated with DSC and TGA in nitrogen atmosphere. Tg of PPSK was appeared at 110 ℃ and Tm was 335 ℃ (2nd run). The maximum degradation temperature is about 580 ℃ with a heating rate of 30 ℃/min.

주쇄에 극성기를 가지고 있어서 폴리페닐렌설파이드(PPS)보다 높은 유리전이온도(Tg)와 녹는점(Tm)을 가지는 폴리페닐렌설파이드케톤(PPSK)을 N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone용매하에서 sodium sulfide와 4,4'-dichloro-benzophenone으로 합성하였다. PPSK합성시 중합조건(중합시간, 중합온도, 단량체 몰비, sodium sulfide의 결정수)의 변화에 따른 중합거동을 점도와 수율을 중심으로 조사하였다. 또한 중합시 sodium benzoate와 lithum acetate와 같은 첨가제의 영향은 없는 것으로 나타났다. PPSK의 열적성질을 DSC와 TGA를 이용하여 조사하였으며 TgTm은 각각 110℃, 335℃이며 최대분해온도는 약 580℃로 나타났다.
