Abstract
Multifunctional composite filbers which have an excellent adsorption capacity were manufactured with PP resin as a matrix and new inorgamic fillers. The effects of inorganic filler on mechanical properties of composite filbers and interfacial phenomena were observed and the adsorption capacity of ammonium ion to composite fibers was also investigated. The inorgainc fillers were uniformly distributed in composite filbers. The increase of filler contents results in the decrease of mechanical strength but the adsorption capacity was increased due to the effects of porosity of fillers and specifics surface area. The regeneration rate of composite fiber was measured and the adsorption capacity was not decreased even after ten cycles of adsorption/desorption, which means the composite filber is suitable for adsorbent.

폴리프로필렌(PP) 수지를 모재로 하고 새로운 무기 충진제를 이용하여 흡착능이 뛰어난 다기능성 복합섬유를 제조한 후 충진제의 충진률이 복합섬유의 기계적 물성에 미치는 영향과 계면 현상을 관찰하였다. 또한 복합섬유의 암모늄이온에 대한 흡착능을 조사하였다. 복합섬유내에 무기충진제는 고른 분포를 나타냈으며 기계적 강도는 충진제의 함량 증가에 따라 감소하는 것으로 나타났으나 흡착능은 충진제의 세공과 비표면적의 영향으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 복합섬유의 재생율을 확인해 본 결과 10회까지 흡착능이 감소하지 않는 것으로 보아 복합섬유가 흡착제로서 적합함을 알 수 있었다.
