Abstract
Water permeation, solute separation and blood compatibility of poly-γ-methyl-L-glutamate(PMLG) membranes were investigated. IR spectra study indicates that molecular chains in the prepared membrane exist in the α-helical conformation. Permeation experiments showed that water flux increased linealy with increasing both applied temperature and pressure. Activation energy calculated from the slope of Arrhenius plot of hydraulic permeability Kω of the membrane was found to be 9.16 Kcal/mole. The result of solute separation through PMLG membrane indicates that solute having molecular weight of more than 20,000 did not permeate. The PMLG membrane showed a good performance when the casting temperature and annealing temperature was in the range of 50℃ and 60℃. Blood compatibility of the polymer has also been discussed.

poly-γ-methyl-L-glutamat(PMLG) 막의 투수성, 수용성용질의 분리성능 및 혈액적합성을 검토하였다. 제조한 막의 상태에서 분자사슬은 α-helix구조를 취하고 있음을 IR로 확인하였다. 투수성 실험결과 투수성은 온도의 상승과 압력이 증가함에 따라 직선적으로 증가하였으며 유체역학적 투과계수 Kω를 Arrhenius plot하여 그 기울기로부터 활성화에너지 9.16 Kcal/mole을 얻었다. 용질배제율 실험에서 분자량 20,000 이상인 용질은 거의 투과하지 않음을 알았다. 막성능은 제막온도와 열처리온도가 50∼60℃인 범위에서 우수하였다. 또한 PMLG의 혈액적합성도 아울러 검토하였다.
