Abstract
In order to improve the interfacial adhesion of carbon fiber reinforced poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) composite, low temperature plasma and silane coupling agents were introduced to the surface of carbon fiber. Optimal surface treatment conditions of carbon fiber/PPS composites were determined by mechanical properties and SEM. Mechanical properties of carbon fibr/PPS composites were increased by plasma treatment, silane treatment and plasma/silane treatment due to the improvement of interfacial adhesion between carbon fiber and PPS matrix resin.

탄소섬유강화 폴리페닐렌설파이드(PPS) 복합재료의 계면결합력을 향상시키기 위하여 저온 플라즈마와 실란 커플링제로 탄소섬유의 표면을 처리하였다. 탄소섬유/PPS 복합재료의 기계적 물성측정과 SEM을 통해 플라즈마와 실란 커플링제의 최적 처리조건을 결정하였다. 플라즈마 처리와 실란 커플링제 처리로 인해 PPS와 탄소섬유 사이의 계면결합력이 향상되었으며, 두 처리방법을 동시에 사용하였을 경우에 계면결합력이 더욱 증가하였다.
