Abstract
The space charge formation in polyethylene (PE)/ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) laminates was investigated using a Pulsed Electroacoustic (PEA) method. The formation of heterocharge was observed in PE while the formation of homocharge in EVA. In particular, EVA shows the positive charge (holes) spreaded all over the specimen. In PE/EVA laminates, a large amount of charge accumulated at the PE/EVA interfaces, which distorts the internal electric field in the direction to enhance the electric field in PE layer and consequently encourage the charge injection into the PE layer. An attempt was made to explain the space charge formation in PE/EVA blends using the data for PE/EVA laminates.

Pulsed electroacoustic method를 사용하여 polyethylene (PE)/ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) laminates의 전하축적현상을 알아보았다. 단충시편의 경우 PE에는 이종전하가 EVA에는 동종전하가 형성되는데, 특히 EVA에는 양전하가 시료 전반에 걸쳐 형성되는 것을 알았다. PE/EVA laminate에서는 대부분의 전하가 계면에 축적되는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 이 계면전하는 PE 층의 전기장을 크게 증가시키는 방향으로 국부적인 전기장을 왜곡하여 PE층으로의 전하주입을 도우는 것으로 생각된다. PE/EVA laminate의 결과를 이용하여 PE/EVA 블렌드의 전하형성을 설명하였다.
