Abstract
In order to synthesize poly(p-phenylene) containing the side chain of oligo(ethylene oxide), the derivatibes of dichlorobenzene and dibromobenzen which are attached with oligo(ethylene oxide)s, were synthesized. The synthesized monomers were polymerized with the catalyst of nickel-complex, and the formation of polymers was confirmed by the spectroscopic method and viscosity measurement. The polymers were characterized using TGA, UV-VIS absorbance, photoluminescence, and redox behaviour in electrochemical cell.

Oligo(ethylene oxide)를 곁사슬로 갖는 poly(p-phenylene)을 합성하기 위한 단량체로 oligo(ethylene oxide) 치환 그룹으로 함유한 디클로로벤젠 및 디브로모벤젠 유도체를 합성하였다. 합성된 단량체들로 니켈 착화합물을 촉매로 하여 중합되었으며 분광학적 방법과 점도측정을 통하여 고분자의 형성을 확인하였다. 합성된 고분자의 흡광특성, 광발광특성 및 열안정성을 관찰하였으며 전기화학 셀속에서의 산화환원 거동을 관찰하였다.
