Abstract
For the epoxy/N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH) system, the effects of cure temperature and composition of BPH on the cure kinetics were investigated in terms of isothermal and dynamic DSC analyses. The cure temperature range was 120 ∼ 180℃ and the composition of BPH on epoxy was varied with 0.5∼5 wt.%. From DSC results of epoxy/BPH system, the reaction rate was strongly dependent on the increasing of the cure temperature or composition of BPH. These results could be explained by means of increasing the reactivity between the -OH functional group of epoxy and BPH when the cure temperature increased, and increasing the reactable active sites when the composition of BPH increased. The activation energies obtained from Kissinger equation increased as the composition of BPH decreased, resulting in the different reactivity between hydroxyl group within epoxy resin and BPH.

에폭시/BPH 계의 경화과정에서 등온 열분석과 동적 열분석을 통하여 경화온도와 흔합 조 성비가 경화반응기구에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 경화온도 범위는 120∼180℃까지 변화하였으며 BPH의 조성변화는 0.5∼5wt.%의 범위에서 살펴보았다. 에폭시/BPH계의 경화반응기구의 열분석 결과로부터 경화온도가 높아질수록 또는 BPH의 함량이 증가할수록 경화반응속도가 빨라지는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 이는 에폭시/BPH계에서 경화온도를 높일수록 BPH와 에폭지 수지내의 반응기의 반응성이 증가하고, BPH의 함량을 증가시킬수록 반응 가능한 활성점이 증가하여 나타나는 결과로 설명할 수 있다. Kissinger식에 의해 구한 활성화 에너지는 BPH 함량이 적을수록 큰 값을 보여주는데 이는 반응 초기 단계에서 에폭시 수지내의 하이드록시기와의 반응성의 차이에 기인하는 것으로 설명 할 수 있다.
