Abstract
2-(1, 8-Naphthalimido) ethyl acrylate was synthesized in relatively good yield by reacting hydroxyethlynaphthalimide with acryloyl chloride and radically polymerized. The emission spectrum of this polymer shows a weak monomer emission band at about 380nm and a strong excimer emission band at about 465nm in 1, 2-dichloroethane solution. The life time of excimer fluorescence was found to be 25.3 nsec in the same solution. These results were discussed in view of the excimer formation.

히드록시에틸나프탈이미드와 아크릴산염화물을 반응시켜 2-(1,8-나프탈이미도)에틸아크릴레이트를 비교적 좋은 수율로 합성하였고 이 단량체를 라디칼중합하여 폴리[2-(1,8-나프탈아미도)에틸아크릴레이트]를 만들었다. 얻어진 이 중합체는 1, 2-디클로로에탄 용액 중에서 380nm 부근에서 약한 단량체 발광 band와 465nm 부근에서 강한 excimer 발광 band를 나타내는 것이 관측되었다. 뿐만 아니라 같은 용액 중에서 이 중합체의 excimer 형광 수명이 25.3 nsec라는 것도 관측하였다. 이들 결과를 이 중합체의 excimer형성의 관점에서 토의하였다.
